Charleston-based Boxcar Betty’s to bring locally sourced, award-winning fried chicken sandwiches to Optimist Hall

White Point Partners and Atlanta-based Paces Properties are excited to announce that Boxcar Betty’s will be joining the diverse roster of tenants at Optimist Hall. The food hall officially opened on August 1, 2019, with subsequent tenants slated to open in the coming weeks and months.

Established in Charleston, SC five years ago, the Optimist Hall outpost for Boxcar Betty’s will be the sixth location, joining four locations in the greater Charleston area and one in Chicago. Boxcar Betty’s will be serving up their beloved gourmet fried chicken sandwiches, which always use all-natural, cage-free, and antibiotic-free meat.

“We are excited to welcome Boxcar Betty’s to Charlotte and look forward to it opening in Optimist Hall,” said Erik Johnson, co-founder of White Point Partners. “Whenever I am in Charleston, Boxcar Betty’s is my go-to lunch spot, so I look forward to being able to enjoy a delicious chicken sandwich in my hometown.”

Patrons of Optimist Hall can look forward to notable menu items such as the Boxcar, with Pimiento Cheese, Peach Slaw, House Pickles, and Spicy Mayo, and the Chicken “Not So Waffle,” with Bacon Jam, Maple Syrup, Pimiento Cheese, and Tomato. Vegetarian patrons have the option to swap chicken in any sandwich for a Fried Portobello Mushroom Cap stuffed with Pimiento Cheese. Classic southern side dishes, salads, desserts, and a kid’s menu will also be available.
