WHERE WERE YOU BORN?

Charlottesville, VA

HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN CHARLOTTE AREA?

Since 2009 so 11 years. I moved here for undergraduate in 2009 and then lived here until 2017 when I moved to the Philadelphia area for 2 years before coming back last spring.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT YOU?

I am an avid reader and learner. I am passionate about learning how the world works and using math/models to try to understand why people make the decisions that they do. I am also a real estate investor and I am very passionate about following macroeconomic trends and financial markets. History, anthropology, psychology, philosophy and other disciplines help us understand how the fundamentals of economics within society work.

One of my passions is to help mentor highly driven individuals who want change in their lives to be able to double to triple their incomes to achieve their dreams. I also love to network to learn more about investing in real estate and financial markets from my mentors.

DURING YOUR TIME VOLUNTEERING FOR A COMMUNITY ACTIVITY OR PROJECT, WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?

For several years I used to go to the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte every week to help with meals and I also worked with them to try to develop a website to help provide mentorship to those in need whether it is for their job search or to just get exposure to professionals in different fields to help them find their passions. I don’t really have a specific memorable moment actually since it was overall a wonderful learning experience where I was given an opportunity to help improve the lives of those who came.

IN YOUR OPINION, HOW DO YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY? PLEASE BE AS DETAILED AS YOU CAN.

I made a bootcamp to help grads who are interested in working in data science/quant work get the skills needed for these roles. Usually universities are behind the curve on new technologies and what the banks and tech companies need so I have helped over 30 people now with breaking into this field from areas such as engineering, mathematics, and business. I love to give back, but I think it is best for me to use my specific skillset to give back even more.
