WHERE WERE YOU BORN?

Charlotte, NC.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN CHARLOTTE AREA?

Over 20 years.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT YOU?

I am a Charlotte native (we are unicorns) and a graduate of the University of Alabama (roll tide). I got my B.S. degree in business in 2012 and immediately started working in orthopedic device sales in Charlotte. From there I went on to work in a buyer’s role for a corporate company in Charlotte, but I made some stops along the way. Growing up, I modeled professionally for a few of the top international agencies in the world and I was given an incredible opportunity with an agency I always wanted to work with earlier in my 20’s, Next Management. My motto is “no stone left unturned” so I decided to devote 2 years of my life to my modeling career. I lived in Miami and LA for months at a time and traveled outside the country to Colombia for work. I currently work as realtor at an award winning real estate agency in Charlotte, HM properties and this past year I had the honor of winning Miss North Carolina USA 2017. I competed 5 times for this dream of mine. My year was filled with opportunities and I went on to compete at Miss USA which was live on FOX in Las Vegas this past May. I devoted my twenties to making sure I had no regrets in life. It made me very aware of exactly what I wanted in life and lead me to where I am now which is working in an industry that fulfills me and gives me the quality of life that I want.

DURING YOUR TIME VOLUNTEERING FOR A COMMUNITY ACTIVITY OR PROJECT, WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORIAL MOMENT?

I volunteered with many different organizations during my reign as Miss North Carolina USA 2017. All of which were wonderful. My most memorable moment was visiting patients in the hospital on Valentine’s Day. I handed out cards to the patients and got the chance to sit and talk with them in their rooms. I really saw firsthand that everyone is fighting some type of battle in life no matter how big or small and it was incredible to me to see the impact that I could have on other people just by being there and listening to them.

IN YOUR OPINION, HOW DO YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY?

I love helping people. Whether its people who are new to the city and don’t know anyone or helping others in my role as a real estate agent. I work as a realtor for HM Properties and I value that my job gives me the chance to help families and individuals find one of their biggest investments, a home. It’s more to me than making a sale. A home and the place you come back to at the end of the work day, is your sanctuary and everyone has different interpretations of that obviously. My goal is to make sure that my clients have found that. To me, that’s the most fulfilling feeling in the world and how I contribute to the Charlotte community from a work standpoint. I am a huge supporter of local businesses and restaurants. I have friends who own their own businesses in Charlotte from boutiques to hair salons and even medical spas. I love contributing to the community by supporting and promoting them as well as other local businesses in any way that I can.

PLEASE LET US KNOW ANY AWARDS OR RECOGNITIONS YOU’VE RECEIVED IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL CAREER:

Miss North Carolina USA 2017 (I competed 5 times for this!)

Selected to work for Coca Cola in a global marketing campaign in 2016

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OR INTEREST?

Fitness, food and travel. I love hot yoga and have been practicing for over 10 years. Being active in general is truly a part of my lifestyle and who I am. I definitely am a foodie though and I love checking out new restaurants in Charlotte (particularly ones that have cheese boards) with my friends. It’s so exciting to see this city blossom more and more. Traveling is something that I have grown up doing with my career. I started traveling alone at a young age and I fell in love with the feeling of stepping foot in a new city by myself. To me, that’s the most exhilarating experience but it also made me appreciate coming home to Charlotte. I knew Charlotte was always going to be home-base.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE THAT YOU STAND BY?

“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects.”- Albert Einstein

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS? 10 YEARS?

No matter where I’m at in life, I just want to be happy. A huge goal for myself in the next 5 years is to build a home and in 5- 10 years, I will have my own business that is tied to an interest of mine here in Charlotte.

CAN YOUR SHARE ONE THING THAT IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?

I grew up snowboarding with my two older brothers. We went to Whistler, Canada years ago and it was an incredible experience. One of the things on my bucket list is to go snowboarding in Austria with them.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU USED YOUR PASSPORT?

This past December I used it when I went to the Dominican Republic for vacation.

WHAT IS A FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF THAT NO ONE KNOWS?

I love reading quotes and I have Pinterest boards full of them!

WHO IS YOUR HERO?

My parents. The reason that I ever put myself out there and relentlessly chased my dreams even after failing the first couple of times is because of both of them. It’s so easy to give up on goals, people or even a career when things don’t work out as you hoped the first time around, but my parents taught me the art of perseverance and that is such a powerful quality to have in life.
