WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN CHARLOTTE AREA?
TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT YOU?
I grew up in Huntsville Alabama in a family of 6 (I was the third child of four). After high school I moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to attend The University of Alabama. While in college my mother passed away to illness but her love for me and the University gave me the strength to earn my B.S in Marketing with a concentration in Professional Sales all in four years. After college I moved to Alpharetta, Georgia to begin my career with GM Financial as an Underwriter. Since then I have earned three promotions, the most recent which relocated me to Charlotte, North Carolina. My time at GM Financial has been extremely rewarding and as I continue to progress in my career path I am excited to see my future.
DURING YOUR TIME VOLUNTEERING FOR A COMMUNITY ACTIVITY OR PROJECT, WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORIAL MOMENT?
My most memorable moment came from mentoring in a program called “Bridging the Gap” while attending college. The program mentored students at Paul W Bryant on various topics from professional development, ACT/SAT test prepping and life after college. In 2011 Tuscaloosa experienced fatal tornadoes that destroyed many homes and businesses. The day following the tornado I was able to get in contact with my students; they were all safe. Many of them lost their homes and family members but they remain positive and in good spirits. I’ll never forget that experience and the feeling of communities rising together in times of tragedy.
IN YOUR OPINION, HOW DO YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY?
Through work: I’ve assisted Chevrolet dealers sell over 5,000 new and pre-owned cars to Charlotte and extended area consumers. With the selling of those vehicles I have provided competitive financing offers while insuring that my dealerships provide the best financial offer for the consumers. Through the transactions, citizens in the Charlotte and extended areas have reliable transportation.
Through interest: I’m a member of the Urban League Central Carolinas Young Professionals. I’ve been a member of the Urban League Young Professional for two years, serving in Alabama and North Carolina. Through the Urban League I have assisted in fundraising which yield to economic development courses for Charlotte Mecklenburg County residents. Being involved in the young professional organization not only have I been able to give back to the residents of Charlotte but also network with likeminded young adults in the community. Meeting consistently to uplift each other and provide ideas and opportunities to our community. I am also a volunteer tutor for Heart Math at Merry Oaks Elementary and Reading Partners LLC at Joseph Gier Academy. Through the tutor programs I can work with students in math and reading; spending quality time on the subjects and teaching at their pace of learning in order to excel in the classroom.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OR INTEREST?
I have a deep love for the arts! I started performing in theatre at the age of 10 and that love has stayed with me since. In my free time I see stage plays and musicals at various theatres throughout Charlotte. I’m a Brand Ambassador for a local boutique Mahogany-Sun and currently filming a movie with Popcorn Trailer Production. I’m a member of St. Paul Baptist church, you can find me there on Sunday morning giving praise. I have a large family and we are very close. My love for my siblings, my niece, and nephews is unmatched, and I am very involved in their life. I am their “Super Aunt” and will drop everything for them.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE THAT YOU STAND BY?
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart” – Proverbs 3:5
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS? 10 YEARS?
Every day I try to be better than I was yesterday. I’m constantly reflecting on my actions and thoughts and seeking constructive criticism from my managers and peers. I do this to learn, see and understand other perspectives and ultimately improve who I am as a woman and a colleague for my family, company and community. I’ve loved my time in Charlotte and hope to stay here as long as I can with GM Financial. As I stay with the company I strive to progress up the corporate ladder. I also have goals to continue working in film and perform in more projects as well as expanding home ownership with investment in rental properties.
CAN YOUR SHARE ONE THING THAT IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?
I’ve accomplished two so far; move to a new city by yourself (my move to Alpharetta GA and the Charlotte NC) and star in a movie (currently filming). However, what is a bucket list with only two things? One item on my list that I have not crossed off is to travel out of the country. Unfortunately, I have not been able to do so yet but I will by 2019!
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU USED YOUR PASSPORT?
I have not had the opportunity to use my passport. However, it is on my bucket list and will get used by 2019!
WHAT IS A FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF THAT NO ONE KNOWS?
I love interior design and doing do it yourself projects. That typically shocks people when they learn that I have an appreciation for the arts and design because I work in the finance industry.
WHO IS YOUR HERO?
My parents. They are complete opposites and I gained qualities from both that helped shape who I am today. My mother taught me how to love unconditionally, care for others for who they are and not their situations, and she also showed me the love of God. My father taught me how to be financially smart, work hard, and to be an independent woman.
