WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN CHARLOTTE AREA?
TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT YOU?
I’m recently married as of May 2019, and we just welcomed our first child on July 23, 2020. I live on Lake Wylie and have 8 dogs. I started working part time at 15 years old in the mitigation industry, and now have used those years of experience to open up my very own mitigation company. By 16 years old, I was the youngest to be WTR certified in the country.
DURING YOUR TIME VOLUNTEERING FOR A COMMUNITY ACTIVITY OR PROJECT, WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?
In the early 2010’s, my church congregation raised enough money to rehabilitate lower income communities. Being able to help better those families living conditions, create a more warming environment, and watch the joy come to their faces as they saw the project come alive was truly a rewarding and humbling experience as a teenager.
IN YOUR OPINION, HOW DO YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY? PLEASE BE AS DETAILED AS YOU CAN.
I always try to make positive impressions with the people I encounter. Everyone you ask about me will tell you that I am the same person day in and day out. My company donated money to St. Jude’s, we have raised money and can goods for the homeless, we donated money and supplies to local teachers last year, we also clean local foster homes every quarter. I believe anyone that has the means to donate or find a positive way to contribute to the community, should do so.
PLEASE LET US KNOW ANY AWARDS OR RECOGNITIONS YOU’VE RECEIVED IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL CAREER:
Awards, plaques and trophies can be lost, broken or even for gotten about, but my none of my awards will ever have those issues. I have never won any awards for the work we have done since our business is directly handling insurance claims. I have been recognized for donations of time, work performed, and money to public and private schools, and we have cleaned over 35 churches for free during this time of the coronavirus. Businesses have been able to open faster after we cleaned their facilities for free. I have not worked for any awards or some type of pedestal, but I have worked for the handshakes of people saying thank you for what you have done and the services you have performed. Those are my awards.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OR INTEREST?
I am a huge outdoor enthusiast; I like to be on the lake on the weekend’s wakeboarding or surfing. During the fall I like to be at my farm cutting fields or planting crops for wildlife. My wife and I have eight dogs, and we like to take them to the farm as well or on the lake. They are definitely a big part of our life.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE THAT YOU STAND BY?
I work as hard as I do so my dogs can have the backyard they deserve.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS? 10 YEARS?
I would like to be in a public service position that my decisions make a difference in the lives of so many people. I think people have lost touch in what it takes to be a community and being a part of each other’s life. I think that we have been formed into believing just because we have different opinions than others, we should not like them, when in fact it is the exact opposite. We should embrace one another’s differences. Imagine a world where everyone shared the same opinion, same looks, and wanted all of the same things. Being open to hearing other’s opinions can open your eyes to a different view you may not have thought of.
CAN YOUR SHARE ONE THING THAT IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?
I try not to have a bucket list, because I do not like the meaning of the end. If there is something that I want to do, I do it. I do not want to have a bucket list filled with things that I may one day not be able to do. Every day is a day that gets removed from the bucket, so long story short I do not believe in having a bucket list, because you never know how many more days are left.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU USED YOUR PASSPORT?
I have not used my passport. I work a lot and travel all through the U.S., so when it comes to vacations, I do not want to travel far. I really enjoy visiting the Outer Banks or Edisto Island.
WHAT IS A FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF THAT NO ONE KNOWS?
One day, I want to have a farm large equipped with enough housing and supplies to provide the best environment for stray dogs.
WHO IS YOUR HERO?
My Grandmother is my hero. When I was a small child, my parents were going through a divorce, they were faced with potentially having to put me into a foster home, and my grandmother stepped up and decided I could live with her. I ended up living with her for a little over four years until she passed away. Still to this day, my grandmother is my hero.
